Newsletter Issue 4 – Winter 2019

A Word from Emily & Henrik

We hope all of our customers had a wonderful Christmas and New Year and managed to dodge all of the nasty bugs that were threatening to ruin the festive fun. For those of you who weren’t so lucky, we feel your pain – Christmas 2018 was a write off in our house!

As usual for this country, the weather has been doing some pretty unexpected things and we’ve had both cold and blustery days, as well as unseasonable sunshine. It is important at this time of year to give our bodies an extra boost to keep illness at bay and our canine friends are no exception. In this quarter’s edition we’re taking a look at a set of supplements developed for dogs to help them stay fit and healthy all year round.

We also have lots of other exciting news for you, including information regarding our updated website and also a very important announcement…

Thank you as always for your constant support, we are eternally grateful to all of our customers for their continued custom.

Important Announcement

Our local customers may have noticed the absence of Emily over the past few months. The reason for this is that we’re expecting our second child, due at the end of June!

As we’re sure you understand, there will be some disruption to our store opening hours leading up to and following our due date of 29th June. We have already arranged cover for this period, however the store will not be open for our usual hours due to availability.

We have not confirmed our opening hours as of yet, but to keep all of our customers informed we’ll be posting updates on our Facebook page, as well as sending out emails nearer the time. If you haven’t already, please follow us on Facebook and sign up for our mailing list on our website to keep informed and avoid disappointment.

Return of the ECO Warriors

Here at Healthy K9 we are conscious of the impact we have on our environment. You may remember from Issue 2 of our newsletter that we announced the introduction of compostable packaging for our 2kg bags of grain free kibble, as a way to reduce the amount of plastic that our company uses.

Since then, many of our customers have contacted us asking whether this ECO-friendly packaging would be available for the 12kg and 14kg bags. We’ve been working hard with our manufacturer and are pleased to announce that within the next few weeks all of our grain free range will be available in compostable bags.

What does compostable mean?

You notice we use the term compostable and not recyclable and there is a difference between the two. Rather than putting your used bags in the recycling bin with your cardboard and tins, you will need to remove the label and put the bag in a compost bin where they will slowly turn into mulch. This is better for the environment than recycling as it requires no energy for the packaging to decompose.

Updated Website

We’re very excited to announce that our brand new website is up and running.
We always have our valued customers in mind, so the changes that we’ve made should make ordering a walk in the park.

These changes will hopefully make using our site a lot easier, but if you need some help finding what you’re looking for then please get in touch.

What’s Changed?

Better Discounts

A common complaint of our site was that customers could only receive a discount for buying two or more bags of the same flavour. Our site is now clever enough to apply discounts across different flavours/ranges of food.

Get exactly the food you want

Our highly popular grain free variety pack has been updated in such a way that customers are now able to select the exact flavours of food their dogs enjoy, without having to include a note with their order.

Find the food you want more easily

We’ve reduced the amount of confusing categories down to 3, which are now Grain Free Food, Specialist Food and Treats, Chews & Supplements.

Future Plans

We are very lucky to have such a wonderful customer base, which is why we’re always looking for ways to improve their overall experience and make the process of ordering food for their dogs as convenient as possible.

With this in mind we’re looking to introduce an online subscription service within the next few months and also offer a ‘refer a friend’ scheme. More details of this will be available in the next issue of our newsletter.
