Why Angus Beef in Dog Food?

This article takes an in-depth look at the benefits of Angus Beef in dog food and how it can support the health and well-being of your pet. We will also explore the other ingredients which form part our fantastic Grain Free kibble.

Why Angus Beef in Dog Food?

Beef is a highly digestible protein source which is very palatable. It is the only protein source that contains all 9 essential amino acids, which are the building blocks of protein. Protein is essential for the optimum health of your dog and beef can provide a large portion of the amount that they require.

This recipe is also rich in the minerals Iron, Phosphorous, Selenium and Zinc, which your dog’s body requires to perform many different functions.

Angus Beef is also a great source of Vitamin B12, which is a nutrient that keeps the body’s nervous system and blood cells healthy.

Why Sweet Potato?

Sweet Potato is a key ingredient in our entire Grain Free Range and has numerous health benefits for the well-being of your dog.

It is packed full of vitamins and minerals and is naturally gluten free, which is great for dogs with sensitive stomachs. It is high in fibre which promotes a healthy digestive system and good stool formation.

Sweet potato is also a complex carbohydrate, with a lower glycemic index than grains, which means it releases its energy slowly throughout the day.

Why Carrot?

Carrot is known for being a good source of Vitamin A in the form of Beta Carotene which helps support eye health and vision within pets.

Carrots are also a good source of antioxidants, which can help support immune health. They also have antibacterial qualities to aid oral health.

What is the difference between ‘Beef’ & ‘Angus Beef?’

According to the Certified Angus Beef Brand®, the certified beef has to meet strict quality standards and less than 8% of all beef earns the brand’s premium name.

In order to qualify as Certified Angus Beef, meat has to come from cattle that are certified on paper to have specific genetic qualities and their bodies must be 51% or more solid black, hence the term Black Angus.

Angus cattle are known for meat that is more tender, flavorful and well marbled. Good marbling means fat is dispersed thinly and evenly throughout the meat, ensuring consistent texture, juiciness and flavor.
